Retired in the year 2016 as Chief Scientist from CSIR, Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology Delhi after more than two and a half decades of service there.

Availing the Scientist Entrepreneurship Scheme of the CSIR I had set up an Industry (Onam Enterprises Pvt. ARTS

Onam Floral Pattern, Karthik, Bangalore

Onapookkalam;- This colourful tradition of decorating homes with Pookalam is hugely popular during Onam festival. It is followed dedicatedly during the ten days of Onam celebrations. Pookalam is the blend of two words, “poov” which means “ flowers” and “kalam” meaning “colourful sketches on the ground”. It is considered a work of art accomplished with a delicate touch and highly artistic sense of tone and blending. Earlier people used to gather flowers from the gardens themselves for the making Pookalam, but the trend seems to be changing. Now the people refer purchasing fresh flowers from the markets of the colours of their choice.
