I am an Indian, born in Irinjalakuda, Trichur District of Kerala. I had my schooling in Central School Malleswaram, Bangalore, graduation from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore and post graduation from Central College, Bangalore University.
I had worked for 10 years in Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore. Meanwhile I did my Ph.D in Food Science. Then I shifted to CSIR, Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, Delhi in 1990. Retired in the year 2016 as Chief Scientist from CSIR, Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology Delhi after more than two and a half decades of service there.
Availing the Scientist Entrepreneurship Scheme of the CSIR I had set up an Industry (Onam Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.) in Bangalore for manufacturing Finger Millet (Ragi) Malt, a nutritious, healthy food for all age groups (children, sports persons, patients recovering from illness, women, etc. The product is also a weaning food for children, rich in calcium and iron. It was marketed in Bangalore (METRO, departmental shops, medical shops, hospitals etc.) and also abroad. I plan to develop products from Ragi, tapioca and market it in India and abroad catering to all classes of people (both rural and urban). Special focus will be to develop products to benefit diabetics and obese people.
